CNC machines in the glass trade create a quality that is unsurpassed.
Spectrum Glass’ investment in an Intermac CNC has proven to be one of it’s
finest decisions.
Intermac are known as the World leaders in CNC machinery and
the quality and precision in the end product is unrivalled.
Quick, accurate
cutting from CAD (Computer Aided Design) files, essential for toughened
laminates where both panels must be the exact same size.
CNC can scan
templates eliminating human error
Repeat projects do
not need to be re programmed.
CNC cutting and polishing is normally used where standard straight-line edging isn’t precise enough. Possibly curved edges and shapes are required, or cut outs for glass door hinges. Specialist diamond routers and polishing heads create an accuracy to less than 1mm.
Spectrum Glass use a straight line edger for polishing work where the panels may be smaller in size but larger quantities can be placed on the conveyor at a time, or maybe only a single edge of a panel needs polishing.
Simple set up for smaller panels and thinner glasses No CAD experience required to achieve the final result.
Straight Line edging is useful for contract mirrors, that can be ordered by the 100’s.
Drilling can be completed in two formats, vertical and horizontal. Spectrum Glass use a vertical drill for contract mirrors where the corner holes can be pre set to aid with speed of production. Horizontal bed drills are used when larger panels require holes.
Holes must be the thickness of the glass as a minimum when the glass is to be toughened due to the stresses placed on them in the furnace. Holes can be supplied from 6mm to 50mm in diameter, dependant on the location. (Above this dimension they are generally cut on the CNC).
Holes are used in
Mirrors for fitting to a wall with screws,
or a balustrade that is installed
using stand offs.
Sandblasted Glass is used where obscurity is required, and the client does not want to use patterned glasses. The glass can have a monotone blast finish all over, or clear borders and designs of all styles. The option of a low maintenance coating for single glazed products is also available.
Designs can be created in many options Sandblasting can be added to different glass types such as tinted glass or laminated glass. A low maintenance coating can prevent marking in many environments.
Sandblasting creates a contemporary obscurity which lends itself to balustrades between properties as a privacy screen, or a front door and screen with a house name or number in clear glass, gives a finishing touch.
Painted glass splashbacks are available in many different colours and finishes. Spectrum Glass can mix and supply samples to match most codes given within these ranges. Rainbow or silver glitter, or bronze and gold quartz, All our paint is mixed and sprayed in house in our 7-metre wide spray booth.
Easy to install using our Splashback installation adhesive. Shaped panels with cut outs can be manufactured on our CNC from templates or CAD diagrams Over 20,000 colours can be achieved from our range of base colours
Our splashbacks can be used instead of tiling for kitchen wall or bathrooms. Creating an easy to clean and uncluttered finish. No more whitening your tile grout after a few years.
Spectrum Glass can provide one single Antique Bronze mirror with a bevelled and polished edge with fixing holes, to contract mirrors with edgework totalling 100’s at any size. Safety Backing can be applied, or even sandblasted and painted options are available.
